Industry Minister directs to replace local products instead of imported ones

SANAA, June. 27 (YPA) – Minister of Industry in Sanaa, Mohammed Sharaf Al-Mutahar directed on Monday to develop plans to replace local products instead of imported ones.

The Minister said a list of locally produced goods to be prepared and their counterparts of imported goods, with the goal of setting plans for substituting national products instead of imported ones, in a way that enhances local production and reduces the import bill within the framework of the directions of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council.

This came during his briefing on the progress of work in the foreign trade sector at the ministry.

He stressed the importance to awaken the role of the sector and to follow up the movement of trade and global stock exchanges, especially with regard to basic foodstuffs.

Al-Mutahar urged the sector to assume its responsibilities in protecting the national product due to the negative effects of the aggression and the siege.
