Civilian injured due to landmine explosion in Hodeidah

HODEIDAH, Jun. 24 (YPA) – A citizen was injured on Friday as a result of an explosion of a landmine left behind by the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition forces in Hodeidah province, western Yemen.

According to the Executive Mine Action Center, a civilian was injured as a result of a landmine explosion, which took place on 50th Street, Al-Hali directorate.

The center pointed out that the number of casualties of mines and cluster bombs in Hodeidah has increased significantly since the beginning of this year, due to the fact that the coalition of did not allow the entry of the necessary devices to clear the infested areas.

It called on humanitarian partners to play their role and pressure the United Nations Development Program to provide detectors to cleanse the province from the war remnants.
