SANAA, Jun. 22 (YPA) – A massive fire broke out on Wednesday at a fireworks store in Azal district of the capital Sanaa, Civil defense department reported.
Director of Civil Defense Department in the Capital Sanaa, Colonel Mohammed Bahish, said that the civil defense teams rushed to put out the fire that erupted in al-Jaraza shop for selling fireworks and car batteries in the area of al-Mashhad, which resulted in the burning of the shop and the store.
They also prevented it from spreading to the neighboring shops and buildings.
He pointed out that the fire caused slight material damages without causing any human casualties, calling for the necessity to provide the means of safety and security in all shops.
Bahish noted fire engines were involved in putting out the fire.
Civil defense personnel evacuated the building without causing any casualties, he said, stressing the need to keep fireworks stores away from residential areas and commit to providing security and safety in public and private facilities, to reduce fire incidents.
