STC militias decides to confront military detour led by Al-Alimi Council in Aden
ADEN, June. 08 (YPA) – Head of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) has directed an emergency and urgent move to confront the military convolution led by Al-Alimi Council and Tariq Afash, in the city of Aden, south of Yemen.
Political sources affirmed that the head of the SC, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, directed the formation of a military committee to recruit 10,000 young people from Abyan, with the goal of thwarting the military steps taken by Al-Alimi Council and Tariq Afash, to recruit the sons of Abyan under the so-called Happy Yemen Brigades.
The sources indicated that Al-Alimi Council’s moves in Abyan came in accordance with military understandings between the leaders loyal to the UAE-funded Tarik Afash and Saudi-backed Islah Party, which stipulate the merging of the brigade recruits located in Shakra area, east of Abyan, within “Happy Yemen Brigades,” and with a green light from the head of the Military Committee, led by Haitham Qassem Taher.
The military moves in Abyan came after the leaders of the “STC” militia refused to integrate into the framework of the so-called “National Army”, under the leadership of Mohammed al-Maqdashi, which consists of Afash forces, Islah militants, and al-Qaeda members.
The STC’s step to recruit the sons of Abyan came after a wave of anger and widespread resentment on social media, as a result of Al-Alimi Council’s moves to recruit thousands of young men, including members of Al-Qaeda, who were pushed to those camps to achieve military breakthroughs in their favor during the coming period.
