TAIZ, Jun.08 (YPA) – Member of the Supreme Political Council, General Sultan Al-Sami’e, confirmed the national salvation government’s readiness to open three roads as an initial stage, then open all roads in Taiz province.
He also revealed that the Saudi-backed party refused to allow the citizens of Taiz to cross through some roads since 2017.
Al-Sami’e pointed out that Sanaa is ready to open the roads through which the citizen can enter and exit safely, but the intransigence of the Saudi-backed party is not justified.
“We want the Saudi-backed party to have sincere intentions to allow citizens to exit and enter through the ports that our team in Amman put forward,” he said.
Recently, the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Yemen has submitted a proposal to gradually open roads, ensuring an implementation mechanism and guarantees for the safety of civilian travelers.
He called on the two parties to “conclude their internal deliberations urgently and achieve positive results for the Yemeni people.”
