MOSCOW, Jun.03 (YPA) – The Russian Defense Ministry said Friday that more than 40 warships and 20 aircraft of the Pacific fleet have begun training in a remote maritime area, the Russian Defense Ministry said Friday.
The maneuvers, scheduled to take place on June 3-10, will involve ships searching for the “submarines of a mock enemy” and “working out the organization of air defense for tactical groups of ships [to] perform combat training exercises on surface and air targets,” the ministry said in a statement.
The maneuvers come amid growing tensions and a vow of war with NATO and the United States.
The Russian Navy has lost two military ships in the war with Ukraine.
