UN reveals reasons for delay of Yemen’s negotiations in Jordan

SANAA, May 24 (YPA) – A source of the office of the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grodenberg, revealed on Tuesday the reasons for the delay in starting negotiations between Sanaa party and the Saudi-led coalition in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The source confirmed that the meeting was postponed due to the delay in the arrival of the delegation of the Saudi-backed Islah Party, which has not yet set a date to arrive in Amman to negotiate on solutions regarding the opening of ports and roads that were scheduled to start on Monday.

The delay of the arrival of the Islah delegation led by deputy, Abdul Karim Shaiban, reinforces the accusations made against the party rejecting the efforts to open roads in Taiz.

On Sunday, the Sanaa delegation, headed by Major General Abdullah Yahya Al-Razami, and the membership of Hussein Dhaifallah, Mohammed Al-Mahtouri and Shukri Mahyoub, arrived in Amman to participate in the Jordan negotiations via a UN plane.
