Military source: 5,034 violations of UN armistice committed by coalition within 50 days

PROVINCES, May 23 (YPA) – The Saudi-led coalition forces continued to violate the humanitarian and military truce in Yemen under the auspices of the United Nations for the 50th consecutive day, bringing the total of violations to 5,034.

A military source in Sanaa confirmed that during the past 24 hours, the coalition forces committed 96 violations, including 32 violations by flight of armed and spying reconnaissance aircraft in the airspace of Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Jawf, Saada, Sanaa, Dhalea, and Bayda provinces and the border fronts.

The source confirmed the recording of a violation with missile shelling by the coalition forces towards the positions of the army and the popular committees in Mala’a in Marib province, and three breaches with creating fortifications in Al-Defa’a hill in Jizan region and Mashaal site in Razih district of Saada province and Marib city.

He added that 45 violations by shooting at the homes of citizens and the positions of the army and the popular committees were recorded in the provinces of Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Dhalea and Jawf provinces and the border fronts.

The source stated that 15 violations with artillery shelling were monitored in Marib, Hajjah, Saada, Dhalea and the border fronts.

According to the source, the coalition forces also targeted with artillery the sites of the army and the popular committees in Bani Hassan area of Hajjah, in Al-Malahidh, Al-Madafen and Razih areas in Saada, in Al-Muthallath in Hajar Battar area in Dhalae province, in Al-Maymana area in Najran region, and in Wadi Jarah, Al-Amoud and Al-Baydha hill in Jizan region.
