MAHRA, May 21 (YPA) – The UAE-funded militia have failed to control the city of Al-Ghaydah, the capital of Al-Mahra province, in eastern Yemen.
Local sources affirmed that the UAE had arranged a meeting with the allied leaders, Abdullah bin Issa Al Afrar, Rajeh Saeed Bakrait, the former Mahra governor, and other military leaders, with the aim of attracting many tribal sheikhs loyal to Sheikh Ali Al-Huraizi, who is opposing the Saudi-UAE coalition and the foreign forces in the province.
The sources indicated that the UAE set the tasks of these leaders on two tribal tracks, by bringing the militia from Dhalea and Yafa, to control Mahra, during the anti-Yemeni unity event, which was organized the city.
They added that the UAE has strengthened its militias in Mahra under the so-called fight against arms smuggling to the Sanaa forces.
This comes after a previous attempt to overthrow the authorities of Mahra governor, Mohammed Ali Yasser, in early January, and to take control of the city of al-Ghaydah, in coordination with the Saudi and British forces present at al-Ghaydah Airport since 2016.
Earlier, A warning statement issued by Sheikh Ali Salem Al-Huraizi of a large conspiracy targeting Mahra and the sovereignty of Yemen, indicating that the tribes of Mahra would be ready to confront any militias targeting the province.
