DAMASCUS, May 20 (YPA) – The Syrian Foreign Ministry on Friday described Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s remarks on establishing a safe zone in northern Syria, as “cheep remarks “.
The ministry said in a statement that these cheep statements made by President of the Turkish regime unfold the aggressive manipulations plotted by this regime against Syria, and the unity of its territory and people.
The creation of such zone is not intended to protect the border areas between Syria and Turkey, but rather the main objective is colonialism and the creation of an explosive focus that helps implement terrorist plans directed against the Syrian people, the statement said.
The ministry called on the international community not to negotiate with Erdogan on the lands of other countries to achieve short-sighted goals that will have catastrophic effects on security, peace and stability in the region and the world, affirming that it will confront this plot by legitimate means in defense of its people and territorial integrity.
