Coalition hinders EU delegation’s visit to Sanaa

SANAA, June 19 (YPA) – Saudi-led coalition hindered a planned visit of a delegation of European Union (EU) to Sanaa on Tuesday, a senior political official in Sanaa told Yemen Press Agency.

Head of EU delegation to Yemen, ambassador Antonia Calvo, was scheduled to arrive Tuesday in the capital Sanaa, accompanied by a delegation consisting of three members representing the EU parliament, the official said.

The Embassy of Yemen in Brussels, which is still under the control of exiled resigned president Hadi’s government, refused to grant visas to two members of the delegation, he added.

The official noted that the EU ambassador postponed her visit to Sanaa until the beginning of next month as a result of the intransigence of the Yemeni embassy in Brussels.
