STC leader killed in Lahj

LAHJ, May 08 (YPA) – Unknown assailants assassinated a leader in  UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)  in Yemen’s southern province of Lahj.

According to a local source, the head of the STC in Hamoma area of in the Yafa’a district, Hussein al-Batati, was attacked by unknown assailants, who fatally stabbed him while on his   way to home to the area.

The source stated that citizens tried to save al-Batati by taken him to a near hospital, but they failed as he died from his serious injuries.
