Amaliqa forces surrender to Yemeni army in western coast

HODEIDAH, June 19 (YPA) – A battalion of the so-called Al-Amaliqa Brigades loyal to Saudi-led coalition in al-Faza area, southern Hodeidah provinces, in the western coast front surrendered to the Yemeni army forces on Tuesday, military sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The battalion surrendered all its equipment and personnel after a siege lasted more than two days in the western coast, the sources said.

The besieged battalion members were waiting for military reinforcements to break the siege on them in al-Faza area, but the army’s drones carried out a pre-emptive operation targeting those reinforcements before they arrived, the sources added.

The drones’ strikes led to the killing and injuring dozens of the coalition’s soldiers and militiamen, including military leaders, in addition to destroying over 12 military vehicles.
