Pro-UAE commander wounded in armed attack in Aden

ADEN, May 02 (YPA) – A military officer in the so-called “Al-Amaliqa Brigades” funded by the UAE was subjected to an armed attack in the city of Aden, southern Yemen, hours after a government official in the same city survived an assassination attempt.

Local media said that unidentified gunmen shot a military officer in charge of guarding the commander in the Al-Amaliqa Brigades, Bassam Al-Mihdhar, nicknamed “Thu Yazan”, while he was on board a car in front of his house in Al-Sanafir neighborhood of Sheikh Othman district.

The attack resulted in the injury of the commander of the Mihdhar Guard with wounds in the neck and head, and he was transferred to an MSF hospital, and his health condition was described as serious.

Aden is witnessing widespread insecurity, assassinations and liquidations among the armed factions loyal to the Saudi-led coalition.
