STC rejects Tariq Saleh’s plans to control over Abyan

ADEN, April 28 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council rejected efforts exerted by Tariq Saleh”, the leader of the pro-Emirati factions on the western coast fronts, to control over Abyan province.

Media professionals in the STC calling for the separation of southern and northern Yemen reported that the leaders of the “STC”, during a previous meeting, rejected a proposal of the of members of the “Riyadh-formed Presidential Council” to deploy the UAE-funded Tariq Saleh” forces in Abyan, southern Yemen.

This came days after the Saudi-backed Islah militia rejected the presence of any UAE-funded military forces in Abyan.

On the other hand, the leaders of the “STC” considered this move to restore the system of what he described as “7-7” group, warning of a scheme through which Tariq Saleh who seeks to control the southern provinces.
