Kuwaiti diplomat survives assassination attempt in Washington

KUWAIT, April 24 (YPA) – A Kuwaiti diplomat’s car came under fire and was hit by 14 bullets in the U.S. capital, Washington, the Kuwaiti newspaper “Al-Rai” reported on Sunday.

The newspaper stated that “14 bullets hit the car of Counselor Muhammad Al-Omiri, as he was waiting in his car for his children to leave school,” adding that “he was not hurt.”

It was not yet known, until the moment of writing this news, the background of the incident and whether it was targeting the Kuwaiti diplomat, or if he happened to be with gunfire at the scene.

In September 2021, the website “Kuwaitis in America” said that a Kuwaiti student studying in the United States of America had his apartment attacked by an armed group.
