Pro-UAE factions release activist Hala Badawi after 100 days

HADHRAMAUT, April 13 (YPA) – Pro-UAE factions have on Wednesday released the activist Halah Badawi, 100 days after she was kidnapped and arrested in Hadhramaut province, eastern Yemen.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on the testimonies of well-informed sources.

Sources said that a court in the city of Mukalla, released media activist Halah Badawi, with a commercial guarantee that the trial proceedings will continue in the case fabricated by the local authority loyal to Saudi-led coalition against her, on the basis of publishing corruption cases in the province.

The sources added that Badawi’s condition was deteriorating as a result of torture and solitary confinement in Mukalla’s military intelligence prison, before being transferred to the central prison.

Military intelligence officers loyal to the UAE-backed  Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Hadhramaut kidnapped Badawi on December 30th and confiscated her phone because of a Facebook post criticizing  the poor living conditions and corruption by the director of the pro- STC provincial education office.
