Shura affirms its support for peace initiative launched by President Al-Mashat

SANAA, April 10 (YPA) – The Shura Council on Sunday confirmed its support for the peace initiative that guarantees the territorial integrity of Yemen, the independence of the Yemeni decision, stopping the aggression and lifting the siege.

In a statement issued today, the Shura Council also affirmed its support for the position of the Supreme Political Council to achieve a comprehensive and just peace that meets the aspirations of the Yemeni people and contributes to lifting the siege, allowing fuel and food ships to enter, and opening all land, sea and air ports.

The statement noted the importance of dealing with the initiative of President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi Al-Mashat, which represents a common ground to end the aggression and address the humanitarian situation.

The Shura Council expressed its astonishment at the announcement of the so-called “Leadership Council” in Riyadh, considering this “an attempt by the aggression coalition to rotate its mercenaries and prolong the war on Yemen.”

“The Yemeni people are empowered to choose their representative and defend their security, stability, territorial integrity and independence of their decisions,” the statement added.

The Shura Council stressed the importance of continuing steadfastness and strengthening cohesion among all components of the people.
