Oman welcomes armistice between Yemen, Saudi-led coalition

MUSCAT, April 02 (YPA) -The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday welcomed the declaration of a two-month armistice in Yemen.

According to the Oman News Agency, the ministry said in a statement that the Sultanate of Oman confirms its continued efforts with the United Nations and the concerned parties with the aim of ending the war and reaching a comprehensive political settlement.

On Friday, Head of the national negotiating delegation in Sanaa, Mohammed Abdusalam, welcomed the announcement by the UN envoy to Yemen of a humanitarian truce under the auspices of the United Nations for a period of two months, according to which all military operations between Yemen and the coalition forces would stop.

The truce also includes the opening of Sanaa International Airport for a number of flights, as well as the opening of the port of Hodeida, which is besieged by the Saudi-led coalition, for a number of fuel ships during the two months of the armistice.
