Foreign Ministry condemns continuation of collective punishment policy against Yemeni people

SANAA, March 30 (YPA) – The Foreign Ministry in Sanaa on Tuesday condemned in the strongest terms the continuation of the siege and the policy of collective punishment against the Yemeni people by the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition countries and their mercenaries.

The ministry indicated, in a statement, that the blockade and the policy of collective punishment are a flagrant violation of the rights of the Yemeni people, including the right to a dignified life.

The statement referred to cutting off road before gas locomotives in the coalition-occupied areas, preventing their entry into the free provinces, and raising the gas price.

It affirmed that these actions come in the context of the brutal economic war that has been waged against Yemen since March 26, 2015, which aims to bring the Yemeni people to their knees.

These cowardly practices occur in parallel with the continuing crime of organized looting of Yemen’s oil and gas resources and selling them abroad, the statement added.

The ministry concluded its statement by emphasizing that such measures and crimes undermine peace efforts and give the Yemeni people their full right to join the frontlines, self-defense, and break the unjust siege by all available means.
