Sanaa reveals new details on prisoner exchange deal with coalition

SANAA, March 28 (YPA) – Head of the Prisoners’ Affairs Committee in Sanaa, Abdulqader Al-Mortada, on Monday revealed that the negotiations on the current prisoner exchange deal with the Saudi-led coalition lasted four months through the United Nations.

Al-Mortada announced, in a press statement this evening, that tomorrow, Tuesday, the lists of captives would be exchanged through the United Nations, expressing his hope that there would be no delay from the other party.

He pointed out that if the lists were agreed upon, there would be a call from the United Nations to hold a talk round to complete the deal and then implement it through the International Committee of the Red Cross.

On Sunday, Al-Mortada had announced a new exchange deal that includes 2,223 captives from both sides, including Saudis, under the auspices of the United Nations.

The deal includes 1,400 captives from the army and popular committees, and 823 from the other party, including 16 Saudis and three Sudanese, as well as Nasser Mansour Hadi, Hadi’s brother, and Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, he elaborated.
