Sanaa launches unilateral initiative by stopping all military operations against Saudi Arabia
SANAA, March 26 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa, Mahdi Al-Mashat, on Saturday launched a unilateral initiative and announced the suspension of missile and drone strikes and all military actions against Saudi Arabia by land, sea and air for three days.
In a televised speech this evening, Saturday, on the occasion of the National Day of Steadfastness, Al-Mashat affirmed Sanaa’s readiness to turn this announcement into a final and lasting commitment if Saudi Arabia committed to lifting the siege and stopping its air raids on Yemen once and for all.
President Al-Mashat also announced the cessation of confrontations on all field fronts for a period of three days, noting Sanaa’s readiness to turn this procedure into a permanent commitment if Saudi Arabia announced the withdrawal of all foreign forces from the Yemeni territories and waters and the cessation of support for its local militias in Yemen.
“The suspension of offensive operations includes the Marib front, and regarding this front, we return to the fore what was included in the initiative of the leader of the revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi and we await a positive response to it,” he said.
President Al-Mashat reiterated Sanaa’s full readiness to release all captives of the Saudi-led coalition, including Hadi’s brother and captives of local militia and of other nationalities, in exchange for the full release of all Sanaa captives in the coalition custody.
He called on the UN envoy to arrange procedures and facilitate executive agreements of the prisoner exchange in full or in installments.
