China responds to US threat over Ukraine crisis

SANAA, March 18 (YPA) – China’s foreign ministry spokesman said his country has been taking an independent and unbiased stance on the conflict in Ukraine, in the latest Chinese position ahead of contact the two presidents

Regarding to the Ukrainian issue, China has always issued independent judgments based on the merits of the case in an objective and fair manner,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said in a press release Friday in response to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s statement that the United States would “take action” if China is found to support Russia’s actions in Ukraine.

Zhao Lijian stressed that some in the US continue to spread false information, slander and pressure on China, which is highly irresponsible and does not resolve the crisis.

US President Joe Biden and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on Friday discussed the Ukraine crisis in an effort to dissuade China from its position on Russia and the need to stop the Russian military operation.
