Report reveals plans for Zionist settlement on Yemeni island of Socotra

SOCOTRA, March 09 (YPA) – Official sources in the Saudi-led coalition backed government have revealed on Tuesday the details on an Emirati plan to support a Zionist settlement in the Socotra Archipelago in Yemen.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on the testimonies of Hadi’s official sources.

The sources confirmed that the Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation has adopted a project to build housing units for Israeli officers and soldiers located in the joint UAE-Zionist bases on the strategic Yemeni island.

Moreover, the sources explained that the housing project paves the way for the settlement of the families of Israeli officers, as dozens of them have been brought over to Socotra in the past weeks.

Furthermore, the same sources noted that the UAE plan aims to expand a more permanent Zionist military presence on the island, which seeks to drain the wealth and its capabilities of the Yemeni island, and turn it into a broad intelligence center.

The moves coincides with the recent visit of Israeli tourists to Socotra through UAE companies, in blatant violation of Yemen’s territorial sovereignty.
