Water Ministry holds coalition responsible for stopping service projects

SANAA, Mar. 06 (YPA) – Ministry of Water and Environment in Sanaa held the US-backed Saudi-Emirati coalition responsible for stopping service projects as drinking water and sanitation services, as a result of the blockade and fuel crisis.

The ministry said in a statement that the coalition’s continued tightening of the blockade and preventing the entry of oil derivatives ships, would have catastrophic consequences for human health and the environment after the water and sanitation sector institutions are getting unable to provide minimal service.

The statement called on the United Nations, the Security Council, and international and humanitarian organizations to pressure the coalition countries to lift the blockade and open Hodeida port to guarantee the flow of sufficient fuel supplies to operate the water and sanitation pumps.

It also called on the people to strengthen alignment and cohesion and organize protest rallies and marches, to send a message to the world about the arbitrary practices made by the coalition countries in acts of piracy and the detention of oil derivatives ships.
