SHABWAH, March 05 (YPA) – Violent clashes erupted Friday between tribesmen in Yemen’s oil-rich province of Shabwah, tribal sources said.
According to the sources, the clashes between the Al-Adio tribes and Al-Aqamoush tribe in Habban directorate renewed following the end of the truce signed between them to hand over the killers of Saeed Saleh bin Adio, brother of former governor Mohammed Saleh bin Adio, last month, due to the tribal vendetta.
Tribal militants used various types of weapons during the clashes that hit villages and citizens’ property, the sources said.
No casualties have been reported so far.
The sources indicated that the pro-UAE Shabwah authorities turned a blind eye to the clashes between the two tribes and fueled the war between them to ensure that their militias remained in control of the oil areas.
