North Korea accuses US of being behind crisis in Ukraine

SANAA, Feb. 27 (YPA) – North Korea has accused the United States of America of arbitrariness that led to the crisis in Ukraine, by sticking to sanctions and seeking global hegemony.

 “The root cause of the Ukrainian crisis also lies in the high-handedness and arbitrariness of the US, which has held on solely to the unilateral sanction and pressure while pursuing only global hegemony and military supremacy in disregard of the legitimate demand of Russia for its security,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement .

This is the first comment on the Ukrainian crisis published by the North Korean Foreign Ministry.

In the early hours of Thursday, February 24, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine after the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republic requested assistance to defend themselves from intensified attacks by Ukrainian forces.
