Abdollahian: The US and western countries must make political decisions and show a real will

TEHRAN, Feb. 21 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said the united states and the three European countries were required to make political decisions and show that they have the real will to reach an agreement as soon as possible (during the Vienna negotiations).

Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Josep Borrell, the European Union foreign policy chief, on the sidelines of the 58th Munich Security Conference in southern Germany.

He also hailed Borrell and Enrique Mora, the EU coordinator in the Vienna talks, for the role they have played so far in the negotiations.

Amir Abdollahian confirmed that Iran has submitted all possible initiatives and proposals, and now it is time for the United States, France, Britain, and Germany to make the required political decisions and demonstrate their intention to reach an agreement as soon as possible.

“If it were not for Iran’s initiatives, we would not be so close to an agreement,” he noted. “But the other side should know that Tehran will not ignore its red lines.”
