Islah militants kidnap local official in Taiz

TAIZ, Feb. 20 (YPA) – Islah militants on Sunday  have abducted a local official in Taiz provinmce, southwestern Yemen, local sources said.

Gunmen led by Abu Thar Abdullah Hassan al-Sharabi attacked Arif Noman, the director of Transport office in al-Rawdha neighborhood in downtown Taiz and took him to an unknown destination, the sources explained.

Activists on social media circulated a video  footage saying it was for the operation  of Noman’s abduction .

Analysts said the abduction of Arif Noman could have been a case in connection with the dispute over the charges imposed by the city’s transport office.
