Egypt, Spain conduct joint military exercises in Mediterranean

CAIRO, Feb. 17 (YPA) – Egyptian and Spanish forces carried out on Thursday joint maneuvers in the Mediterranean; with the aim of countering threats to global trade flows and international navigation.

The maneuvers included training on homogeneous work within a joint force charged with the tasks of maintaining maritime security, as well as training on the method of joint protection for a vital target at sea, according to the official Egyptian agency.

In February of last year, Egypt and Spain conducted a naval exercise at the Berenice Naval Base within the Southern Fleet in the Red Sea, with the aim of raising the level of the participating forces and exchanging experiences between them.
