TEHRAN, Feb. 15 (YPA) – Iranian Ambassador and Assistant Permanent Representative to the United Nations Zahra Arshadi said that imposing sanctions against the Iranian people, particularly in the field of medicines and humanitarian goods, is a crime against humanity.
Speaking on Monday at the annual meeting of the UN Social Development Committee, Arshadi said: “Illegal bans have made it very difficult for vulnerable segments of society in banned countries to access primary medical goods and supplies. This put the lives and health of citizens at risk.”
The provision of medicines, equipment and health goods faces serious obstacles due to severe restrictions on foreign currency resources. These illegal measures directly affect the lives of vulnerable citizens, including women, children and the Patients.
The very sad issue is that many children lose their lives because of such inhumane measures, she added.
