Syria condemns Israeli aggression on the country

SANAA, Feb. 09 (YPA) – Syria strongly condemned on Wednesday the double cowardly Israeli aggression on Syrian territory from the direction of the Lebanese capital Beirut, which resulted in the death and injury of Syrian soldiers.

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement said: “This aggression constitutes a double violation of the principles of international law and the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and its resolutions related to Lebanon and Syria, especially Security Council resolution on disengagement No. 350 of 1974.

“This aggression comes amid international silence and an umbrella of protection provided by the United States of America, which encourages the Israeli occupation entity to persist in its repeated aggression against Syria and to undermine the credibility of the international community,” the statement added.

It continued, “The Syrian government warns the Israeli entity against the continuation of the Israeli repeated and flagrant criminal violations and attacks, and it has the right to respond to this aggression.”
