Sanaa FM warns of dangers of suspicious moves by Israel, America in Red Sea

SANAA, Feb. 02 (YPA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Sharaf, warned on Wednesday of the dangers of upcoming plans for suspicious military alliances under the name of the naval maneuvers of the Zionist entity and the US administration in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and Arabian Sea regions.

The minister said in a statement the new international military alliances under the pretext of combating terrorism, piracy and enhancing the security of the region, are the existence of suspicious agendas and objectives to turn the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea into a direct and proxy conflict arena.

He stressed that the peoples and countries of the region would be the first victims of such military arrangements, which Tel Aviv and Washington call for.

“What the Zionist entity and the US Central Command announced regarding the naval maneuvers in the region is nothing more than a provocative display of naval military power,” the minister said, adding that “the Zionist entity is trying to confirm messages of hegemony and threat to the countries of the Arabian Peninsula, the Red Sea and the Gulf, in the hope of strengthening the trend towards further normalization and subordination, as well as intimidating its military capabilities against countries in the region.”

The minister’s statement explained “the maneuvers to be conducted during the coming period come at a time when Washington is talking about the need to create an atmosphere of stability and peace in the seas and international sea lanes.” These allegations towards peace are not true, with a clear American-Israeli tendency to display force and carry out provocations intended by Russia, China and a number of other countries.

The statement stressed the importance of continuous monitoring of the new Israeli movements supported by Washington, with the participation of several countries, to conduct hostile military activities that appear to preserve the safety of maritime navigation and traditional military cooperation, which are Israel’s undeclared goals for further penetration in the region.

It called on the Zionist entity and the normalization group participating in the maneuvers to avoid trying to make any foolish escalation and uncalculated movements along the Yemeni coast.

The statement pointed out that Yemen is not a partner in any alliance or maneuvers in which the Zionist entity participates, and that the Sanaa defense forces will deal with any intrusion by the warships or planes of intruders in the maritime area that locates within the scope of its sovereignty and fire.

The minister sent a message to friends in the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China and Iran the need to seriously deal with these suspicious moves, which come at a time when the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian borders is escalating, and the continuation of the Saudi-Emirati coalition’s aggression against Yemen for 7 year.
