Leader in Mahra reveals presence of armed groups to confront occupation

MAHRA, Jan. 25 (YPA) – A leader in Mahra sit-in revealed on Tuesday the presence of armed groups to confront the occupation in the province.

Official spokesman for the committee, “Ali Mubarak bin Mahamed,” affirmed that the committee has armed groups from Mahra tribes, whose mission is to protect the province from any occupation projects.

He said that the UAE seeks total control over the entire southern scene,” in an attempt to repeat what happened in Socotra, Aden and Shabwa.

Mahamed considered that the calls made by the Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias, backed by the UAE, regarding the expulsion of the military and security forces from Mahra, as a clear evidence of their efforts to legitimize the province and their explicit conspiracy.

He threatened to take firm stances against the local authority, which is seeking to help the coalition pass its projects in the governorate.
