7 soldiers injured as F-35 fighter landed on US aircraft carrier

SANAA, Jan. 25 (YPA) – At least Seven soldiers were injured and a pilot was able to jump out of his plane on Monday, the US  Navy said.

According to a US Navy statement, the incident occurred as the F-35C landed on the USS Carl Vinson in the South China Sea.

The incident occurred during “routine overflights” in the South China Sea.

The pilot “managed to jump out of the plane safely and was rescued by a US Army helicopter,” the statement read.

The statement added,  that the condition of three of the injured required evacuation to a medical facility in Manila and four were treated by on-board the carrier.

The three injured are in stable condition, the statement noted  said, according to Reuters.
