SANAA, Jan. 16 (YPA) – North Korea said Sunday that its railway-borne missile conducted test yesterday, with two tactical missiles targeting a specific target in the East Sea.
North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that the aim of the exercises was to “verify and judge the actual combat capability of the railway-borne missile unit in North Pyongan Province.”
Friday’s rocket launch “showed high maneuverability and a high success rate,” the agency said, adding that discussions had taken place on “the establishment of a rail missile operating system throughout the country.”
KPA leaders and senior officials of the Academy of Defense Sciences supervised the exercises, but did not mention North the presence of leader Kim Jong Un, the agency said.
