Turkish military base in northern Iraq hit with several missiles

NINEVEH, Jan. 16 (YPA) – At least three 122 mm Grad rockets targeted the Turkish base of Zelkan in Bashiqa district of Nineveh province,  north of the country, Iraqi security sources said Saturday.

“A heavy rocket attack was carried out on the Zelikan base, the base of the Turkish forces in  north of Iraq,” Sabereen News reported.

Sabereen News also announced that Turkish forces responded to these attacks by firing artillery.

The attack has not left any casualties.

Meanwhile, the Zelikan base has been targeted by rockets several times in recent months.
