KUWAIT, Jan. 14 (YPA) – At least two workers were killed and 10 others injured after a fire broke out on Friday at a gas liquefaction at Mina al-Ahmadi refinery, Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) said on Friday.
According to KNPC, the fire started during routine maintenance at the No.32 gas liquefaction unit at the refinery.
The company has activated an emergency plan, and firefighters are dealing with the blaze.
Production and export operations have not been affected, KNPC said, given that the unit was out of service when the fire broke out
The company said the fire was fully controlled.
Al-Ahmadi refinery is one of two oil refineries owned by the state-owned Kuwait National Petroleum Company, supplying the country with its oil derivatives needs and exporting their products abroad.
