Gunmen loyal to UAE block roads in Hadramout
HADRAMOUT, Jan. 13 (YPA) – Armed elements funded by the UAE on Thursday stopped the movement of tankers in the Hadramout provinces, eastern Yemen.
Local sources reported that the tribal sheikh loyal to the UAE, Hassan Saeed Al-Jabri, directed a number of militants of the Hadramout Valley tribes to cut off the main road and stop the movement of tankers, against the backdrop of the valley authorities’ breaches of the agreement with the governor, Al-Bahsani.
The sources confirmed that the so-called “Hadrami Uprising” committee warned against dealing with “the uprising climbers seeking to waste the rights of the people of Hadramout.”
The committee to implement outcomes of the General “Hadramout Meeting” would resort to escalate if the demands of the people of the province are not met, the sources added.
The “Hadrami Uprising” called for putting an end to the corruption and the looting of the province’s oil and sea wealth, and exiting Islah Party militants from the province’s districts.
