UAE-backed al-Amaliqa militants suffer from heavy casualties in Shabwa

SHABWA, Jan. 08 (YPA) – The death toll of the UAE-backed al-Amaliqa militants, in fierce confrontations with the Sanaa government forces in Shabwa province, has risen to 450 dead and wounded over the past hours.

According to local sources familiar with the matter, the Ataq General Hospital received, during the past hours, 170 bodies of the militants of the al-Amaliqa Brigades, reinforced with al-Qaeda elements, following the battles broke out in Osaylan district and the outskirts of Bayhan district.

The sources revealed that among the dead of the coalition forces were prominent military leaders, including commanders of military brigades affiliated with UAE militants.

The sources affirmed that “many militants of “al-Amaliqa Brigades” and al-Qaeda elements are still under the stifling siege imposed by Sanaa forces in the deserts of the two districts.

Additionally, the coalition forces advanced towards open desert areas between the districts of Usaylan and Bayhan, which led to the death and injury of dozens of them.

The Sanaa government forces are still in control of all strategic areas and mountainous heights in the districts.
