North Korea launches hypersonic missile in new test

SANAA, Jan. 06 (YPA) – North Korea fired a hypersonic missile in the first test of its kind this year, state media reported.

North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that the missile test took place on Wednesday.

It added that the missile carried a hypersonic sliding warhead, confirming that the missile accurately hit a target  with 700 kilometers away.

On Wednesday, the South Korean military announced that North Korea had launched an “unspecified projectile” toward the sea, in Pyongyang’s first test in the new year, without giving further details immediately.
