Amaliqah gunmen’s commander kidnapped in Ataq

SHABWA, Dec. 30 (YPA) – A commander in Amaliqah gunmen backed by the Saudi-led coalition was kidnapped on Thursday in Shabwa province, local sources said.

The sources said that unidentified gunmen kidnapped one of the commander of the “Second Giants Brigade”, Brigadier Hamdi Shukri.

UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias accused Saudi-backed Islah militants of being behind the operation, which coincides with the start of the UAE process of transferring units of the “Giant Brigades” militants from the western coast to Shabwa.

Shukri is the second bodyguards of the leader of the Giants militia was kidnapped in Shabwa after the former governor loyal to the Islah party overthrew in response to the wishes of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
