Germany records 372 death cases of Covid-19

SANAA, Dec. 28 (YPA) – German health authorities have recorded 372 new deaths from Corona virus (COVID-19 )  in the past 24 hours.

According to the Robert Koch Institute report, 21,080 new  infections have been recorded in the country, bringing the total number of people infected in the country since the pandemic spread to 7026369 cases, with a total of 110805 deaths.

Earlier, Germany’s Health Minister Karl Lauterbach said that the proportion of coronavirus infections due to the new Omicron mutation would increase sharply in the coming days.

Lauterbach appealed to citizens to take measures to avoid infection  during Christmas celebrations.

German authorities are expecting another wave of Covid-19 cases due to Omicron, although it remains the country’s norm so far, and the number of casualties has declined, following a sudden rise last month.
