Al-Wazieyah district in Taiz witnesses popular uprising

TAIZ, Dec. 20 (YPA) – Al-Wazieyah district, west of Taiz province, witnessed on Monday a popular uprising and a comprehensive civil disobedience throughout the district, controlled by the Saudi-led coalition militias.

Hundreds of angry demonstrators roamed the streets of the district center to protest against the deteriorating living conditions due to the collapse of the Yemeni riyal price against foreign currencies.

In conjunction with the popular uprising, shops closed their doors to citizens in protest against the rise in food prices due to the deteriorating economic situation.

The merchants refrained from opening their shops until the stability of food prices, which are witnessing a significant increase, compounding the suffering of the citizens.
