Parliament listens to Speaker’s letter world parliaments on Yemeni people’s suffering

SANAA, Dec. 18 (YPA) – The Yemeni Parliament, in its session Saturday, listened to its Speaker’s letter addressed to heads and members of parliaments around the world regarding the suffering of the Yemeni people.

In his letter, the Speaker of Parliament, Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, noted this letter comes on the occasion of the International Day of the Arabic Language, which falls on December 18.

“We find it an opportunity to address you and remind you and all the free people in the world on this day, of the suffering of the Yemeni people as a result of the continued aggression and siege for nearly seven years,” Al-Ra’i said.

He mentioned that the theme of this year’s celebration of 2021 is “The Arabic Language and Civilized Communication” to reaffirm the important role of the Arabic language in communication between the cultures of nations and peoples.

In this regard, the Parliament speaker wondered in the letter when such slogans would be embodied in practice, and “where is the role of the United Nations and its affiliated bodies and the international community in backing the cause of the Yemeni people and their grievances?”
