Egypt records first case of Omicron

CAIRO, Dec. 18 (YPA) – The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced on Friday evening the first cases of the new Coronavirus (Omicron) mutation.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health said in a statement that it had detected three cases of Omicron at Cairo International Airport through screening points and quarantine at the airport.

The Ministry confirmed that the three Omicron cases were among 26 cases of Coronavirus from abroad detected. These cases were taken to a quarantine  hospitals and taking all precautionary measures against contacts.

The Ministry revealed that there were two cases with no symptoms and the third suffered from mild injury symptoms, and the three cases were isolated and followed up by the medical team.
