Hadramout witnesses tension state between Islah militants, tribesmen

HADRAMOUT, Dec. 15 (YPA) – Tensions escalated between the Islah Party militants loyal to Saudi-led coalition on the one hand, and the tribes that set up points in several areas of Hadramout Valley, eastern Yemen, on Wednesday.

Informed sources reported that an oil companies protection force affiliated with the Islah Party surrounded the point established by tribal groups in ‘Rasb’ area of Sah district to prevent the departure of oil locomotives from Hadramout.

The armed groups of tribes arrived at the Rasb area to support the point in the face of any provocations by Islah militants, and to strengthen it to lift the siege, the sources added.

Other sources reported that Islah party gunmen arrested a number of the point members in the Rasb area, under the directives of the governor of Hadramout in “Hadi’s government”, Faraj al-Bahsani.

Media had revealed extensive communications received by the “First Military Region” from prominent leaders in the Hadi government to move militarily to remove the points set up by tribes in several areas in the Hadramout valley.
