Meteorology center warns of severe cold weather, calls for precautions in several Yemeni provinces

SANAA, Dec. 10 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology has warned citizens of a sharp drop in minimum temperatures and expected cold to very cold weather with frost formation in most provinces during the next 24 hours.

In its weather bulletin on Friday, the center noted  that the weather will be cold to very cold during the night and early morning, and frost formation in parts of the provinces of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Bayda, and parts of Ibb, Dhalea, Jawf, and Marib.

The weather is likely to be cold in the highlands of the provinces of Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, and Hadramout, and relatively cold to cold in the desert areas, according to the center’s bulletin.

The center warned citizens of severe cold shocks due to the sharp drop in minimum temperatures, especially the elderly, children, patients, and workers during the night and early morning, and urged farmers to take the necessary precautions to protect their crops.
