5 tons of smuggled, expired medicines destroyed in Bayda
BAYDA, Dec. 09 (YPA) – The Public Health and Population Office in Bayda province destroyed on Thursday five tons of smuggled, counterfeit and expired medicines, which had been seized in drug stores, pharmacies and health centers.
Director of the Health Office in the province, Mujahid Al-Khatri, explained that the destruction process took place after completing the procedures in the presence of representatives of the competent authorities.
Al-Khatri praised the efforts of the Pharmacy and Medical Supply Department in controlling medicines and their validity, stressing the continuation of monitoring over medicines in pharmacies, drug stores, and health facilities, and taking action against violators.
