Tebboune: We regret Morocco’s agreement with Israel, and Algeria’s threat from Rabat is a disgrace

SANAA, Nov. 27 (YPA) -Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune indicated in a statement that he regrets Morocco’s agreement with Israel, stressing  that “the threat of Algeria from Morocco is a disgrace and has not occurred since 1948.”

He added, “We will attack anyone who dares to attack us; an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth”.

The Israeli Defense Ministry announced the signing of a defense memorandum of understanding with Morocco on Wednesday, paving the way for military sales and cooperation between them after the two countries upgraded their diplomatic relations last year.

A source familiar with the memorandum said that it did not contain specific defence agreements but provided a legal and regulatory framework for such agreements in the future.

Rabat officially suspended relations with Israel in 2000 with the outbreak of the second intifada in Palestine, but the two countries have quietly maintained a level of communication through their intelligence services over the past 20 years.
